An emergency ban on outdoor burning has been instituted for all areas served by the City of Georgetown Fire Department and Emergency Service District No. 8.

The ban was issued because of weekend weather concerns, with the possibility of high winds and low humidity. A fire warning has been issued for 28 Texas counties, including Williamson County.

The ban will expire at noon Sept. 11.
