  • Not Another 1960 ??

I find it almost hilarious that the Magnolia Parkway officials are just now getting concerned with the un-zoned FM2978 and FM1488 areas. Most of us residents have lived here for over 10 years, and paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for our homes. Only to watch auto repair garages destroy the scenery by making their lots into junk yards. Not to mention extremely noisy manufacturing plants hiring mainly illegals aliens. No zoning, no control and just now people are saying "Not another 1960" area?? 1960 is already moving here. Stand on any corner on FM 1488 or FM 2978 and notice the low rider cars with 4 or more thugs inside. Mobile home parks and even a pawn shop has cheapened our areas. Our house values have already taken a hit,,, and we brace for further devaluation as our un-zoned areas are destroyed by uncontrolled business's. The Magnolia Parkway areas should have adopted The Woodlands stance on all business's, landscaping and heritage. Instead the city of Magnolia, does nothing to stop the best area it has from "Turning into a 1960 area"! Magnolia Parkway AND Magnolia should be deeply ashamed!

One year after Texas students began taking end-of-course exams to graduate from high school, two pieces of legislation—Senate Bill 3 and House Bill 5—aim to reduce the number of state standardized tests students are required to take and overhaul the state’s graduation plan. We want to know how you think students in Texas should be tested to prepare for life after high school.
