9/11 Flight Crew Memorial

The 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial in Grapevine honors the flight professionals who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Representatives from the 9/11 Memorial Foundation of Texas and the Grapevine Fire Department will mark the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with a short memorial service tomorrow morning.

The event will take place at Grapevine's 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial, located at 1000 Texan Trail where Texan intersects with Northwest Highway.

Firefighters and members of the 9/11 Memroial Foundation will toll a bell and lower the flags there to half staff. The service will begin at 7:46 a.m., the moment the first airplane hit the World Trade Center, and the flags will remain lowered until 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The 9/11 Flight Crew Memorial, dedicated on July 4, 2008, honors the memory of professionals who crewed American Airlines Flights 11 and 77, and United Airlines Flights 93 and 175.
