Hutto ISD gets input on proposed budget cuts

  Hutto has just notified parents that they are eliminating two art teacher positions. Since these two positons were staffed with substitutes, they aren't firing anyone, but the remaining two art teachers will be shared by the four campuses. Students at two of the campuses will have library instead of art for the next 5 weeks. The following 5 weeks, the other two campuses will have library while the first two receive art education. This change is effective immediately following spring break. They claim that they are not eliminating art from the students schedule, but they fail to mention that they are cutting it in half. I think art is an important part of my child's education.
