  • Response to CW

The story was published Friday morning with a report of the events that occurred Thursday evening. Additional calls were made throughout the day Friday for clarifications, and the story was updated accordingly. The city secretary clarified the wording of the motion, which was added to this article, but the fact remains the City Council took no additional action by issuing actual letters of reprimand and censure. Cowman's lawyer is still determining whether accepting the report as letters of reprimand and censure warrants legal action. Hope that helps.

  • This article is incorrect

The reporting in this article is incorrect. The Leander City Council choose to use the letter of recommendation from the Ethics Commission AS the letters of reprimand and censure to Mr. Cowman. The Austin American Statesman reported this wrong in today's paper, but ironically got it right at this website - http://cplstatesman.com/2012/07/06/council-approves-commission-report-council-minutes-as-letters-of-censure-reprimand-against-former-mayor/

  • Leander City Council

We need to keep this city and county strict. Which keep the corruption and crime out of here.
Thank you AUSTIN City Council for throwing away my tax dollars. I mean Leander City Council. It's getting hard to tell the difference.

  • Leander City Council Politics As Usual

This is politics as usual. Like the blue protecting the blue. City official should be held to the highest standards. If we did wrong we'd be hammered. They are setting an example that it's okay to do wrong doings. What's next? Are we gonna be like Austin? I hope not. I'll sell my house and get out of here.
I'm tired of politicians getting away with EVERYTHING. That's why I helped voting his butt out of my city.
