Round Rock ISD Superintendent Jesus Chavez welcomed the district's new deputy superintendent for instruction and administration, Martha Salazar-Zamora, at a reception held July 16 at Round Rock High School.
Salazar-Zamora was most recently assistant superintendent of school support services for Houston ISD.
"I know that in everything she has done, she always puts the children first," Chavez said.
Of her experience in Round Rock thus far, Salazar-Zamora said, "I certainly appreciate the very warm welcome. I have told Dr. Chavez on more than one occasion that I am really, really so impressed and very touched at the ... reception and just the goodness of the people of the City of Round Rock."
Chavez also recognized new assistant superintendent of secondary education, Rebecca Donald, and assistant superintendent of elementary education Carla Amacher.
Donald has been the principal of Westwood High School since 2002. Her replacement will be named in August, a district spokesperson said. Amacher most recently served as the director of elementary education for Round Rock ISD.
