Blue Dahlia Bistro Coming to area

Blue Dahlia Bistro, a French-style bistro with a location in East Austin, is scheduled to open another location at 3663 Bee Caves Road, Ste. 4-A, in early April. The European-style bistro will have 114 seats, 50 of which will be outside.

“We have a lot of Westlake customers at our current location,” Blue Dahlia Bistro co-owner Fred Nelson said. “We have quite a bit of hype, so I think it will do well. It suits Westlake.”

On Jan. 25, West Lake Hills City Council approved an amendment to the bistro’s site plan for its outdoor patio. In response to concerns from City Council members, the bistro’s cedar column patio fence will not have stone columns.

Councilman Jean Goehring said he was worried about how a dense fence would look near the parking lot and whether there would be enough parking in the area when the bistro opened.

Blue Dahlia Bistro architect Allan Nutt said the only time he imagined parking might be a problem would be during the holidays.

Goehring said despite several concerns, he was excited about the restaurant coming to West Lake Hills.
