Cianfrani Coffee Co. will change ownership at the end of September as Mukesh Patel takes over the coffee shop on the Square.
Current owner John Cianfrani is selling the company so he can enjoy more free time.
"It's time to retire," he said, adding that he plans to stay in Georgetown.
Patel, owner of the Neel's Coffee franchise, plans to keep the company name and will add sandwiches, salads and different pastries to the menu. Coffee, water, juice, sodas and other beverages will still be served.
Along with menu changes, Patel plans to alter prices to make them competitive with Starbucks.
"It will be equal to Starbucks, or actually a little less than Starbucks. I'll try to keep it around 5 percent cheaper or more," he said.
Other changes include extending the shop's hours to 9 p.m. to attract larger crowds from nearby Southwestern University.
