Georgetown police officers were promoted during a Sept. 11 City Council meeting.
Jim Seals, who has been with the Georgetown Police Department since 1998, was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant, and Chris Gerstner, who joined in 2006, was promoted from officer to sergeant. Both work in GPD's field office bureau.
