Williamson County earned the No. 3 slot on CNN Money’s “Where the jobs are” list. The list identified the top 25 counties in the nation that have had high job growth rates.

Williamson County’s job growth from 2000–11 was 73.8 percent, according to the listing, which also cited the county’s incentives for companies and low property taxes as a reason for the ranking.

“The rapid development of nearby Austin has spurred the growth of so-called ‘super suburbs’ like Williamson County’s Round Rock and Cedar Park, where affordable housing, cultural offerings and numerous parks and trails win points with young families,” CNN Money said.

Round Rock and Cedar Park

We have been seeing tremendous growth in these areas for many years. Now with the new medical school, Schlitterbahn (coming), several new medical facilities, Emerson expansion, and loads of new retail jobs and growth--Williamson County is moving and shaking. The rule of investing apply, once everyone starts to figure it out--it is already well under way. In this case, we are several years into this latest growth pattern in Williamson County--most notably, Round Rock, Cedar Park and Leander.

10 years ago--no Austin Realtor could tell you where Leander was located and thought that Round Rock and Cedar Park were an hour away from downtown Austin. Today, Austin Realtors know better and show houses in these areas every day.
