In the News: Restoration of historic train depot

Restoration of Kyle’s historic train depot, North Front Street, began in late April. The building was originally built in 1917 and has served as home to the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce. The project is expected to cost about $900,000 and is being funded mostly by private donations. The city has dedicated $250,000 to the work, with another $25,000 coming from a grant from Pedernales Electric Cooperative. The project is expected to take 10–12 months. 262-3921, www.cityofkyle.com
