Following Travis County’s decision to lift its burn ban Nov. 22, Lakeway Mayor Dave DeOme lifted its bun ban, effective Nov. 23.
While the ban is lifted, the city stressed that citizens be careful when taking part in any activities that include outdoor burning and that residents follow the city’s outdoor burning and illegal dumping ordinance.
Violations, such as illegal dumping and burning brush, are considered misdemeanors and violators can be fined up to $2,000.
