Round Rock’s downtown Main Street Plaza was officially dedicated to Sharon Prete, a former city parks and recreation director who dedicated much of her life to fostering Round Rock’s public parks and the arts programs.
A new sign bearing Prete’s name was unveiled at a formal ceremony July 26. The 14,000-square-foot plaza hosts a stage, custom art and an interactive water fountain.
Councilman John Momon said the dedication was moving, considering all the years of work Prete gave to the city.
“It was heartwarming to see the plaza named after her,” said Momon.
