Coming Soon: Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center

Construction has started on Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center, a new 10,500-square-foot school at 1801 Bagdad Road, Cedar Park. The Fort Worth–based company’s first Austin-area franchise, which is slated to open in July, will offer educational, values-based programs for children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Relocations: Michael's

Texas-based arts and crafts chain store Michael’s relocated across the street to 14028 N. US 183, Bldg. C, Austin, in the Lakeline Market next to Stein Mart and H-E-B Plus. The 21,440-square-foot location is scheduled to open April 26, and the store’s nearby Lakeline Mall Drive location will close. Anderson Mill Physician Associates recently secured a 3,414-square-foot site at Plaza Volente, 11521 RR 620, Austin. The primary care clinic is scheduled to open by the fall and will be led by Dr. Kristin C. Bell, a physician associated with Cedar Park Regional Medical Center who currently works at the Avery Ranch clinic, one of five primary care clinics in the CPRMC network. Bell’s expertise is internal medicine with specialties in sports medicine and eating disorders. Taoist Tai Chi Society of the USA, 1907 Cypress Creek Road, Ste. 105, Cedar Park, is expected to open its own location by the end of June at the Sun Chase Plaza. Offering classes in Cedar Park since 2005, the tai chi studio will accommodate 100 students, who previously went to Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Church for classes. The move will allow increased classes, including daily beginning courses. Owner Holly Harris plans to convert a cottage at 205 S. Brushy St., Lot A, Leander, into Bright Minds Clubhouse, which will host children’s birthday parties that include art, Lego engineering, princess parties, yoga and “gross-out” chemistry as well as tutoring for all ages. There will also be opportunities for wine and art parties for adults, Harris said. Next door will be Whole Child Learning Center, a preschool enrichment program hosted at various day cares, after-school programs and summer camps that teaches Spanish, computer basics and more.
