Mangia Pizza, 8012 Mesa Drive, resumed take-out and delivery service Sept. 12 since being acquired by Cloud Cap Inc.

The restaurant is undergoing renovations and dine-in service will resume by mid- to-late October. Cloud Cap plans to improve on the restauran'ts signature Chicago-style stuffed pizza by using better ingredients.

Cloud Cap, a subsidiary owned by Austin-based Pileus Group LLC, became a creditor to Mangia Pizza Investments and submitted a Plan of Reorganization with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in 2011. Both the restaurant and the license at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport were affected by the bankruptcy filing.

Cloud Cap's plan was approved Aug. 29, and Sayers closed the restaurant. Cloud Cap has plans to revamp the restaurant's operations and refresh the brand, according to a news release.

“We will offer great pizza and a new menu for takeout and in-restaurant dining,” said David Turpin, a principal of Pileus Group, in the news release. “Look for a fresh start for Mangia that will include updates to the food, the service and the interiors.”

The restaurant is not affiliated with the Mangia Pizza locations at 12001 Burnet Road and 2401 Lake Austin Blvd. Those restaurants are now called Pizza Bistro.
