Flavorful food and friendly service are two components sure to make the new Woodlands-area location of Mooyah Burgers a success.
Located in a strip center in the master-planned community of Imperial Oaks, visitors who walk into Mooyah are immediately greeted by a friendly employee who explains the ordering process, which begins by filling out a form.
The menu is not large, as there are only three burgers to choose from: the Mooyah burger, Turkey burger or Veggie burger. However, burgers can be customized with onion strings, avocado, jalapeños, mushrooms and numerous sauces. Plus, the burger comes plain unless you decide to include basic toppings like tomatoes, lettuce and pickles.
Each burger is made fresh to order and served on a homemade bun, so it takes a few minutes to get your food, but it is worth the wait. The Mooyah burger includes two patties with melted cheese in between and on top, which is one of the best parts of the meal. The meat is lightly seasoned and juicy, and the regular fries are also good, but seasoned heavily. Mooyah offers sweet potato fries as an alternative as well. Be warned that when the food is served it comes in a paper bag, instead of on a tray or plate, so it can get messy.
The price for a burger, fries and drink is around $10, which is a little high, but the meal is a refreshing break from fast food burgers.
Mooyah’s décor is bright and bold with exposed lime green pipes, a checkered floor and floor-length chalkboard on which children can draw while waiting for the food. The restaurant also stays true to its name, as a cow theme is also prominent, which includes glass milk bottles that hang from the ceiling and pictures of the animal above the drink station.
