San Marcos is seeking nominations of outstanding local women to induct into the San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame at its 28th annual ceremony in October.
The deadline for submitting nominations is 5 p.m. Sept. 21. Entry forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office, 630 E. Hopkins or on line at www.sanmarcostx.gov/fame.
The San Marcos Women’s Hall of Fame began in 1984 to honor women for their volunteerism and leadership in the community. Since then, 116 women have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Criteria for selection will include volunteerism in multiple areas of service, meeting the needs of the community, demonstration of initiative, influencing positive change and going beyond the call of duty.
San Marcos will host the 28th Annual Women's Hall of Fame reception at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at the San Marcos Activity Center.
The reception will honor women who have made meaningful contributions to the San Marcos community through personal achievement and community service.
