AUSTIN — A fourth community input session on the City of Austin's budget takes place at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Givens Recreation Center, 3811 E. 12th St., with officials engaging citizens on areas of the city budget that will be cut due to the recession.
The Budget Town Hall meeting will begin with a budget forecast overview, followed by an interactive exercise designed to generate meaningful public engagement in setting service-level priorities, according to a City news release. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions or express concerns in a question-and-answer period with City Manager Marc Ott directly following the budget reduction activity.
