The city's trendsetters and businesses are hosting in-store events to celebrate Austin Fashion Week, culminating Sunday night in the Austin Fashion Awards at the Long Center, 415 W. Second. St.

This year's participants number in the dozens, in categories like boutiques, designers, hair stylists, makeup artists, models, photographers and salons. Events include happy hours, parties, fashion shows, free lessons and special sales. For a full listing of events, see the official calendar.

Artisan market Austin Handmade will celebrate its grand re-opening at 2009 S. First St. from 8-11 p.m. Thursday as part of Fashion Week. The party will feature a fashion show by local designer Robie Dodson of Parsimony, music by Lost Werks and DJ Beef Eigler "Hot Britches" of High Society, and opportunities for special discounts and prizes. The owners of Austin Handmade are Jason Butler and Catherine Jones.
