Jennifer Schaffer, founder and owner of Mariposa Natural Gardens, presents “How to Design and Build a DIY Ecological Landscape.” Do you want a beautiful yard, but don’t know where to start? Even if you know the proper steps to creating a successful landscape (Planning, Preparing, Planting, and Sustaining), the devil is in the details! Getting advice from a seasoned professional can enable you to manifest a landscape that is functional, beautiful, and water-conserving, instead of a hodge-podge or cookie-cutter landscape full of plants that don’t thrive. Jennifer started Mariposa in 2000. She is a ‘gardening coach’ for DIY clients and a landscape designer for folks who want to contract out installation and maintenance of their gardens. Her designs have been featured in Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center’s “Gardens on Tour.”
All classes begin at 9:00 am and are about 1 hour long, except where noted. Classes are subject to change. Please call first to confirm. Classes are held outdoors under an open air canopy – please dress for the weather. Arrive early for best seating.
You are welcome to bring your own chair.
