Aston Fitness with Eve Chenu and Michelle Wald

    Mondays 6:30–7:30 p.m.

    Jan. 14–Feb. 18

    $90

    Free intro Jan. 7, 6:30 p.m.

This class includes gentle exercises for strength, flexibility, balance and posture. What makes it unique is its emphasis on discovering the underlying principles of physics that allow movements to be safer, more effective and more enjoyable. Moving with grace and power is not just for professional athletes and dancers. These skills can be learned. Students will be able to apply this new understanding to exercises for improved fitness and to their everyday activities. This class will be co-taught by Eve Chenu and Michelle Wald.

Eve Chenu is a certified Aston Kinetics practitioner, experienced personal trainer, massage therapist and yoga instructor. She offers Aston Kinetics, a powerful method that utilizes bodywork (massage), movement education, fitness and ergonomics. These components are woven into a holistic approach that seeks to assist individuals in releasing unnecessary holding and tension, and to enhance body usage. The results are decreased pain, improved ease of movement, and enhanced athletic performance.

Michelle Wald is passionate about helping people find their best selves and live in their best body. Michelle worked as a PT at the St. David’s Medical Center in Outpatient Orthopedics. It was there that she was introduced to Aston-Patterning, now know as Aston Kinetics. This level of in-depth bodywork was to be her life path and specialty. She graduated as an Aston practitioner in 2001 from Aston Kinetics Inc. in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. She has taken more than 3000 hours of training—encompassing both the basic certification and advanced levels of Arthrokentics. She also has a LMT from New Creation Massage School in Austin, TX.
