Leander Parks and Recreation is gearing up for the Holidays with its annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Dec. 7. A parade, Christmas tree lighting, choral performances, hay rides, craft and food vendors, yule fire and pictures with Santa Claus are offered. Gary Anderson is the grand marshal of this year’s parade. Anderson has been the store manager at the Leander H-E-B Plus since its opening in 2007 and serves as president of the Leander Library Foundation board. Anderson has earned this honor because of his commitment to the community and leadership with the foundation. During his tenure at H-E-B, the company has been a partner with many city of Leander events.
The parade begins at 5 p.m., and the tree lighting follows at approximately 6:15 p.m. in Old Town Leander, 200 W. Willis St. All community groups, local businesses and classic vehicles are invited to participate. For more information, parade entry applications and vendor applications, visit www.leandertx.gov.
