REGISTRATION Participation in the 2013 event will be capped at 25,000 registrants. All registrants will receive a 36th annual race T-shirt and official race bid number. Every participant will be timed and receive an official race 5K split (3.1 mi.) & 10K finish (6.2 mi.) time.
LOCATION The Statesman Cap 10K start line is at Barton Springs Road and South Congress Avenue near the Austin American-Statesman. The race finishes on West Riverside Drive along Lady Bird Lake on Auditorium Shores.

HEALTH & FITNESS EXPO Join us at the Cap 10K Health & Fitness Expo where race packets will be available Friday, April 5, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, April 6, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Expo will be held in the Austin Convention Center Exhibit Hall 3 which is located at 500 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78701.
You can pick up someone else’s packet at packet pick up as long as you bring a copy of their driver’s license. A photo of their driver’s license on your mobile device is also permissible.
COURSE DESCRIPTION The 6.2 Mile course starts by crossing the Ann B. Richards Bridge and heads north up Congress Avenue to the Texas State Capitol Building. It then winds up 11th street to San Jacinto. A turn on 15th street takes you west to Enfield and over to the Mo-Pac frontage. A turn down Winsted leads back towards the lake and past Stephen F. Austin High School. The rest of the course hugs the shores of Lady Bird Lake on Cesar Chavez with a grand finish on Auditorium Shores just off S. 1st Street.
AGE GROUPS & AWARDS The top ten participants in each age group will receive their awards in the mail when the official results are confirmed. The Statesman Capitol 10,000 Race Director tabulates all the results and all decisions are final. Age groups for Male & Female are as follows 12 & under, 13-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90-94, 95 & over.
AWARDS PRESENTATION At approximately 9:30 a.m. awards will only be presented to Overall & Masters winners and Overall Wheelchair at the main stage on Auditorium Shores. In case of rain, the awards ceremony will be at the Embassy Suites Hotel near the starting line. Stay around and help us congratulate the winners!

EVENT BENEFACTOR Donations from the 2013 Capitol 10,000 Race will benefit Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. Providing outstanding care for babies, children and teenagers from a 46-county area, Dell Children’s is the premier health care provider for children in Central Texas. The numbers of families seeking care for their children has greatly exceeded projections so all race donations will help complete the Third Bed Tower Project at Dell Children’s, which will add 72 beds to the hospital and bring the latest new pediatric services to Central Texas. Funds will also be used for medical equipment needs. Dell Children’s is a member of the non-profit Seton Healthcare Family.
