Kurt Johnson, Sr., a Hutto journalist, author and former speechwriter in the Texas Senate, will speak at the March 3 meeting of the Sun City Democrats Club. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m. in the Sun City Cowan Creek Center, 1433 Cool Spring Way, in Georgetown.
Johnson is a the author of "The Outskirts of Life from Hutto's Front Porch" (1987) and "Glass Walls" (2009), in which he uses Williamson County as a case study of a government guided by neoconservative ideology. He will share his insights on the inner workings of local politics.
The meeting is free and open to the public and will be proceeded by coffee at 9:30 a.m. Additional information can be found at the club’s website, www.suncitydems.org.
