GEORGETOWNSt. David’s Foundation and the Georgetown Health Foundation donated $100,000 to the nonprofit Capital IDEA Feb. 23.

Capital IDEA aims to support working families with educational sponsorships, and the grants will help low-earning adults pursue a two-year degree in a healthcare profession. Funds contributed to Capital IDEA go toward qualified participants’ education expenses, including tuition, books and childcare.

Funds from the Georgetown Health Foundation will target Williamson County residents while the grant from St. David’s Foundation will help people living in Travis and Hays counties.

“Capital IDEA has spent the past 10 years helping people in our community to be successful and productive, and we wanted to support the good work they are doing,” Georgetown Health Foundation CEO Scott Alarcon said in a statement.
