HUTTO — During its regular meeting on March 4, the Hutto City Council approved entering into an “outside agency funding agreement” with the Hutto 1911 Foundation. This agreement enables the city to provide $5,000 to the nonprofit foundation for the Hutto Centennial Celebration, scheduled for July 2011.
The council also unanimously approved the appropriation of $5,000 to help fund the 2010 PetFest and Expo, which will be hosted April 9–10 at Triple Crown Dog Academy. The funding will come from the city’s Hotel Occupancy Tax fund. More information on the event can be found at www.triplecrownpetfest.com.
Mayor David Begier issued a proclamation that recognizes March 13 as Arbor Day in the City of Hutto. He called on all citizens to celebrate this day by planting trees. City officials will participate by planting 10 trees in Fritz Park on Arbor Day.
The next council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, March 18, 2010, at 7 p.m. at the Hutto city council chambers, 401 W. Front St.
