1. Interior design

2. Chopsticks not required

3. Habitat’s habitat

Habitat for Humanity of Williamson County expects to move to 2108 N. Austin Ave. by July 1. The new site includes the administrative offices, the ReStore area and a 24,000 sq. ft. construction warehouse. Volunteers are needed to help move during June. 4. Sweet wins

Dan Marek, owner of Georgetown Winery at 715 S. Main St., earned top recognition for three wines in May. The winery’s Sweet Peach and Chocolate Cherry Port won silver medals, and Sweet Blueberry won the bronze medal in California’s Pacific Rim International Wine Competition. 5. Recreate

The recreation center at 1003 Austin Ave. opened the Teen & Senior Center May 23. Amenities include a kitchen, game room with Wii and PlayStation, pool tables, table tennis and outdoor courts for volleyball and basketball. 6. Give me a sign

7. Window shopping

The commercial and residential design store, Fabric Bin, 7100 W. Hwy. 29, now carries the Hunter Douglas line of window treatments. 8. Beauty treatment

Medical esthetician Mary Bauer opened Laser Lounge Med Spa with her business partner, Kathi Mezger, at 901 S. IH 35 Ste.102, inside Salons of the Town. Services include laser hair removal, age spot removal, facials and rejuvenation, chemical peels and Botox. A medical director oversees all medical procedures and performs injections. 9. Skate park open

After being closed for almost a month, the Georgetown Skate Park in San Gabriel Park, 449 E. Morrow St., reopened in early June. The park had been closed for repairs because of vandalism. Call 930-3595 or visit www.parks.georgetown.org.

10. Digital resources

The National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education’s executive director will office from Southwestern University as the college manages the nonprofit’s funds. W. Joseph King, a Southwestern University graduate, accepted the head position May 18. The organization provides digital information resources to 130 liberal arts colleges around the world. 11. Warm welcome

Through the Red Poppy Endeavor, Realtors at Century 21 HSK & Associates, 950 W. University Ave., Ste. 201, are working with the Texas Department of Transportation to plant red poppies along IH 35 between Round Rock and Georgetown. Local talent recognized

Georgetown High School student Andrew McCourt was the overall winner of the 2009 Congressional Art Competition, sponsored by the Round Rock Area Arts Council and U.S. Rep. John Carter, R-District 31. McCourt’s piece was one of 31 works submitted by students from Carter’s district. Southwest Airlines will fly McCourt to Washington, D.C. where his art will be on display at the Cannon House Tunnel for one year. Visit www.house.gov.

Live music

Financial report card

Financial evaluation firm Standard & Poor’s increased the City of Georgetown’s bond rating from AA to AA+ April 23. The higher rating allows the city to issue bonds without insurance and at a lower interest rate. Call 930-3676 or visit www.georgetown.org

Hutto

12. Office space

Round Rock Development Group broke ground on construction of the Old Town Professional Building at 210 E. Hwy. 79 April 29. The eight, 1,000 sq. ft. offices are Hutto’s first Class A office spaces. The developer expects to open in November and is looking for tenants. Call 799-3075.

13. Church relocates

14. New dentist

Trails unite

Hutto will receive a federal stimulus grant to complete the Cottonwood Creek Trail expansion. The $545,000 of federal funds, combined with local money, will be used to construct a 10 foot wide concrete trail between Fritz and Creekside parks. New fire chief

Hutto Fire Rescue hired the department’s first full-time chief, Scott Kerwood, June 1. Before relocating to Hutto, Kerwood served as fire chief of Orange County, Texas and brings 31 years firefighting experience. Call 759-2616 or visit www.huttofirerescue.org.

Guided growth

16. Insurance options

Independent insurance agent Julio Rosado will open Rosado Insurance Agency, 117 W. Fourth St., July 13. Rosado offers insurance for automobiles, residential and commercial property and coverage for vehicles traveling to Mexico. Call 352-7400.

17. Dual kitchen

Taylor Made Pizza joined Bar None Grill, 3200 N. Main St., in mid-April to serve pizza and chicken wings. Guests can create their own pizzas. Wing flavors include mild, hot, spicy or honey barbeque and lemon pepper. Call 352-6676.
