Lone Star Circle of Care, a nonprofit community health center operating nine clinics in Central Texas, has hired a new chief medical officer and a new chief operating officer for clinical systems.

Dr. Scott Nicklebur, Chief Medical OfficerDr. Scott Nicklebur joins LSCC as chief medical officer, where he will oversee the organization's network of medical providers across all service lines and clinic locations. Before coming to LSCC, Nicklebur oversaw the creation of the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. David's Georgetown Hospital and led the department as assistant director for more than two years. He is board certified in both emergency medicine and internal medicine.

Maureen Polivka, R.N., Chief Operating Officer of Clinical SystemsIncoming Chief Operating Officer of Clinical Systems Maureen Polivka is responsible for the operations management of LSCC's clinics, focusing on improving efficiency and effectiveness of care and patient satisfaction. Polivka comes to LSCC from St. David's Georgetown Hospital, where she was director of women's services for six years and also acted as interim chief nursing officer in 2008. In addition to being a registered nurse and a member of the Association of Women's Health, Obstetrical and Neonatal Nursing, Polivka holds a law degree from George Washington University and is accredited by the Virginia State Bar Association.
