Williamson County hires Bob Daigh as infrastructure director

Williamson County named Bob Daigh as the county’s new director of infrastructure. Daigh retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after more than 20 years of service, spending the last five years as the Austin District Engineer. He starts the position Sept. 1.

Photo of Bob DaighAs director of infrastructure, Daigh will direct administrative work relating to a broad range of county infrastructure issues including transportation and engineering projects, road and bridge construction and maintenance, and subdivision regulations. Daigh has been charged with establishing and managing a three-tier construction program encompassing TxDOT and state road standards, county road standards and city/county partnership roads. He also will be representing the Commissioners Court in negotiations in support of countywide goals and services. Daigh will prepare for implementation of the 2011 Road Bond program projects and interact with the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization in development of a 2035 comprehensive plan, as well as serve as the Williamson County CAMPO representative for the Texas Association of Counties.
