Hutto ISD lifted a ban on extracurricular events May 7, including a ban on outside groups using district facilities, according to the district's website. All UIL events resumed May 7 as well. The district had canceled events due to the H1N1 flu, also known as the swine flu.
All out-of-district trips are still canceled with the exclusion of the senior trip; however, in-district field trips will continue as scheduled, a note on the website said.
The district is still encouraging students to practice good hygiene and stay home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms.
School officials are also lifting the temporary visitor policies that required visitors to remain in common areas. Visitors will still be asked, however, to sanitize their hands upon arrival at any campus.
