H-E-B nwh

Marie Leonard

A new H-E-B is coming to the empty Randalls building at Jones and West roads in Northwest Houston.

H-E-B has announced plans to open a new store in Northwest Houston—hopefully by the end of the year— at West and Jones roads where a Randalls closed more than two years ago.

“We’d like to be open before the end of the year, but we just finalized the contract, so there isn’t a definitive timeline yet,” said Cyndy Garza-Roberts, director of public affairs for H-E-B.

The company has not determined which format the H-E-B store will be, but it does have about 65,000 square feet with which to work.

“As that community continues to grow, we feel there are products we can provide to the growing [area],” Roberts said.

The last H-E-B to open in Cy-Fair was in 2007 at Barker Cypress Road and Hwy. 290.

new store

I was a little dissapointed in the new store. It reminds me of the pantry stores, but with a few little extras. Hopefully it's because it just opened, and they are still working on it.

HEB on Jones Road

We are so looking forward to this so we don't have to drive a long way. This is definitely cool!

I am a south Texas girl and I'm so excited that we won't always have to drive to Barker Cypress. A little piece of home comfort. Hope it's great

New HEB

I live just a block away from Jones and west rd. I currently work for another store(not HEB). I have been working at this store for 6 years, but would like to work for HEB. However, there is one problem. No full-time positions open pertaining to my experience.

HEB

I currently work for HEB and will be transferring to the Jones/West location when doors open on October 17th, 2012. We can't wait to open doors and serve the Jersey Village community!

HEB

I have also heard the rumors of a Longenbaugh /Tuckerton area store. I have had a member of HEB management tell me they have secured a site on fry rd south of 290. I know that their is a sign at fry and tuckerton for pad sites of a grocery anchored shopping center . Here is a link to the site plan

Hopefully the will begin constuction after the Fairfield store is opened.
More good news in the area is Kroger is building a massive 120,000 sq ft store at Barker Cypress and Tuckerton.

New HEB

since I do not know what a Joe V's is, I am happy that a HEB is coming to our area. We usually shop at the 290 Barker store and like it but to have the same options here within walking distance is wonderful. This will help us keep our promise to ourselves to only eat fresh and have things on hand instead of stock piling!!! Happy

Looking forward!!! Hope it's an HEB Market!!! We live nearby and travel to the HEB Market on 249 or 290 to buy all of our groceries. All the neighbors are hoping for a Market as well.

please no Joe Vs

Please let it be on a scale of Central Market and not anything close to a Joe Vs please. Keep the value of our area up and set a standard. I was sadden to see Randalls go and that hideous CitiTrend come in.

Joe V's

i dont think Joe V's is a bad idea! i live in fairfield, I work in downtt=own and on my drive home i stop by.. of course they dont have everything, but i do save a lot on some groceries that i do find there. when i go to a regular heb, i get the same products for more $

FINALLY!!

So excited!! Hurry up and build it I cant wait!!!

not a joe v's

If you look at TBAC licensing, HEB lists Joe V's Smart Shop on those locations and HEB Food Store #(applicable number) on their full HEB stores. This supports no Joe V's at this location.

HEB format

Our community is so excited about HEB taking over the site of the former Randall's at Jones and West Rd. I understand the store will only be 65K sq ft vs. the optimum of 100K sq ft. If you must sacrifice any section of the store because of space limitations, please let it be the dry goods type of merchandise. I love the deli, seafood and cheese sections-I can buy towels and pots and pans elsewhere.

FULL SERVICE HEB TO OPEN OCT. 17TH

I just called HEB customer serive and and was told that the store opening at Jones and West (Old Randall's) will be a full service HEB...NOT A Joe V's.
Spread the word.

Another link...

Here is another link stating that HEB #657 was issued a beer and wine sellers permit on March 14, 2012. Again, let's hope its another sign that it will be a full service HEB, and not a Joe V's. Also HEB typically opens HEB's in what they call "Food Deserts" where there are no other stores around. As cruddy as the Kroger is across the way, if this really is an HEB, I can't wait.

TABC

HEB petitioned for a license to sell beer and wine, and if you look at the February 16th, 2012 archive here ( http://www.dailycourtreview.com/Newsroom/Archives/tabid/164/Default.aspx ) it states "HEB Beverage Company LLC, dba HEB Food Store #657" ... It's on page 7 of the PDF. So that gives me a little glimmer of hope it's not a Joe V's, since I think they use a different dba for them.

Any Updates?

Anyone heard an update on what format? Construction has started and rumor has it its a Joe V's. I agree about the middle class nature of the area. I do not think it can support two foodtown type stores. Personally as an area resident, I wont shop at Joe V's, I will stick to Kroger b/c the Barker HEB is a hike, crowded, and poorly stocked.

If it is other than a HEB I will continue to shop at Krogers. No Joe V's must be HEB or not worth visiting!

HEB

Please please please don't let this be a Joe V's. This neighborhood can support a full service HEB. There is already a Food Town across the street for those who want a "value" shopping experience.
