Tony Dale replaces Stephen Thomas for Cedar Park council Place 5

CEDAR PARKCedar Park City Council has named Tony Dale to fill the vacant Place 5 position, which opened Oct. 1 when Stephen Thomas resigned from the position to pursue a state office.

The council interviewed eight candidates Nov. 5 during a special meeting, where each prospective councilmember was asked a series of questions dealing with such topics as their vision for Cedar Park and their goals for the office.

Dale, who has served on the city’s Planning and Zoning Commission, rose to the top of the list of applicants.

He was officially sworn in at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 6. A ceremonial swearing-in will take place at the next scheduled council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov.12 at the Cedar Park Library, 550 Discovery Blvd., in Cedar Park.
