Parenting conference to reinforce value of community

CEDAR PARK — Parents, business owners and other members of the community are invited to learn how the community can become a support system for children.
The second annual Connecting U Community Conference is scheduled for 8 a.m.–2 p.m. April 16 at Hill County Bible Church, 2124 RM 620, in Austin. The event is sponsored by Leander ISD, Cedar Park Regional Medical Center and Hill Country Bible Church.
Conference topics include childhood nutrition, dealing with stress, parenting teens, boosting children’s success, the importance of birth order and understanding current drug trends.
Online registration prior to the conference is $8 or admission at the door is $10. The cost includes breakfast, a box lunch and conference materials.
Local businesses and organizations are invited to display their goods and services 7:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m. Those interested in exhibiting can apply by calling 570-0030 or visiting www.leanderisd.org.
