CEDAR PARKTim Adams will assume the permanent role of chief executive officer for Cedar Park Regional Medical Center, hospital officials announced March 11.

“I look forward to leading the Cedar Park Regional Medical Center team,” said Adams. “This is an outstanding hospital with a dynamic staff. I have every intention of working alongside our employees, medical staff, board of trustees and community to advance our business growth goals and achieve great success.”

Adams, who has been serving as interim CEO since late January, has worked in hospital management for 25 years, and most recently served as Vice President of Operations for Division II at Community Health Systems in Franklin, Tenn. In that role, he oversaw 18 Texas hospitals.

Adams earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Baylor University.

Adams’ wife and two children plan to join him in Cedar Park in the coming weeks.

Tom Gallagher, chairman of the CPRMC Board of Trustees, said board members considered many factors in naming Adams to the position and his experience and knowledge of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center made him the board’s choice.

The board named Adams to temporarily lead the hospital when former CEO Abe Martinez resigned Jan. 21 to focus on a personal matter widely believed to be related to a lawsuit.
