In 1991, two wing-loving freshmen at the University of Texas decided no Austin restaurant did wings right. They hatched an idea to open a place that offered dine-in, take-out and delivery of delicious wings. In the spring of 1995, MD Pluckers Wing Factory and Grill took flight.

11-pluckersPluckers’ atmosphere is laid back and welcoming. Customers can stop in to have some wings and a beer while watching the game on one of several TVs, bring the family for wings and finger food, or call in an order for fast, fresh delivery. If hungry for something not specified on the menu, Pluckers vows to mix and match to please customers’ palates.

Pluckers offers traditional wings (five for $4.75, 10 for $8.49, 15 for $11.99, 20 for $15.99, 50 for $38.99 and 100 for $69.99) and boneless tenders (regular basket $8.99, monster basket $11.99, 20 for $29.99, 50 for $59.99 and 100 for $99.99) with a choice of 16 sauces — all made in house — ranging from Honey BBQ to Fire in the Hole.

Pluckers also boasts homemade potato chips, cut and fried in house, topped with their own warm chunky blue cheese, bacon, chopped tomatoes and green onions as an appetizer ($6.99). Add them as a side to one of the many burgers or sandwiches, ranging from the Boring Burger ($7.99) to the Dirty Bird ($8.99).
