UPDATE : Harold Dean, Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce president, said Klein had not tendered resignation with the Chamber.
“As far as I know, he’s still our chairman,” Dean said, adding that he hoped Klein would remain at the Chamber.
David KIein, M.D., resigned as CEO of Cedar Park Regional Medical Center. Klein is leaving to pursue other opportunities, he stated in a CPRMC press release.
“After careful thought and consideration I have made the decision to resign my position to pursue other opportunities,” Dr. Klein stated in the press release.
Klein served as CEO at the medical center for three years, and had recently been appointed as chairman of the board of directors for the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
Calls to CPRMC were not immediately returned.
“I have sincerely enjoyed my time as CEO and I am very proud of the many accomplishments our team has made since the hospital’s opening 15 months ago,” Klein stated in the press release. “I am fortunate to have worked with a great team of employees, board members, medical staff, and volunteers.”
Abe Martinez has been appointed interim CEO, according to the release. Martinez has 20 years of healthcare experience, and most recently served as CEO of Laredo Medical Center for the past four and a half years. Before that, Martinez was CEO of Vanguard Health Systems Southeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, according to the release.
