Half Price Books donates $15,000 to Keep Texas Beautiful
Thursday, 26 March 2009
As part of the grand opening of Half Price Books in Cedar Park, 1335 E. Whitestone Blvd., the company presented a check for $15,000 to the Keep Texas Beautiful Replant Texas program.
The funds will be awarded to eight communities affected by Hurricane Ike — Dickinson, Houston, Sugar Land, Lake Jackson, Pearland, Jasper, La Porte and Navasota — to replace trees lost in the storm.
All 40 Texas Half Price Books locations partnered with Replant Texas, donating 10 cents from the sale of every reusable tote bag to the program.
Keep Texas Beautiful is a statewide grassroots environmental and community improvement nonprofit with a goal of educating and engaging Texans to take responsibility for improving the state’s environment. For more information on programs and events, call 1-800-CLEAN-TX or visit www.ktb.org.
