Cedar Park, Leander and Round Rock are one major step closer to securing the water the cities need for future growth.
The Texas Water Development Board Thursday unanimously approved the bond sale for phase 1A of the Brushy Creek Regional Utility Authority water system. Phase 1A will cost $182 million.
Leander City Council passed a resolution approving its share of the bonds — about $92 million — in a 6-1 vote, with Councilman John Perez voting against.
Round Rock’s share of Phase 1A is about $66 million, while Cedar Park’s portion is about $25 million. The shares are based on anticipated future water usage. The total project cost will be $309 million.
