City of Cedar Park receives thirteenth budget award

The Government Finance Officers Association recently presented the City of Cedar Park with an award honoring the city’s budget.

The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award has been bestowed upon the city a dozen times previously. It recognizes the highest principles in government budgeting.

For budgets including fiscal period 2007, 1,166 entities have received the award.

To be considered for the award, a city must meet national guidelines for effective budget presentation, which include a policy document, a financial plan, an operator’s guide and a way to communicate the information.
