Cowman, council incumbents reelected; Navarrette wins Place 1

Leander voters chose incumbents over challengers in the June 13 runoff election, sending Mayor John Cowman, Place 4 councilwoman Michell Cantwell and Place 6 councilman Dave Siebold back to the dais. Voters also picked Andrea Navarrette in the special election for Place 1, which was vacated when former councilman Vic Villarreal made an unsuccessful bid for the mayor’s seat.

The totals:

Mayor

• John Cowman — 60 percent
• Iris Davis — 40 percent

Place 4

• Michell Cantwell — 59 percent
• Cathy Broun — 41 percent

Place 6

• Dave Sibold — 57 percent
• Josh Payne — 43 percent

Place 1

• Andrea Navarrette — 56 percent
• Mark Kronkosky — 44 percent
