Members of the Austin City Council voted unanimously Thursday in favor of a plan to reduce animal euthanizations, and also unanimously approved a $12 million contract to build a new animal shelter in east Austin.

TxDOT reopens US 183 access road at plane crash site

Two lanes of the southbound US 183 access lane have reopened as of Monday at approximately 8:30 p.m., said TxDOT spokesman John Hurt. The lanes were closed after Feb. 18’s plane crash at the Echelon Building on Research Boulevard.
