Hyundai Hope on Wheels donated $40,000 to support childhood cancer research

On June 23, childhood cancer patients and their families who have received treatment at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, 4900 Mueller Blvd., joined Hyundai to present Dr. Virginia Harrod with a check for $40,000. Harrod was selected for the second year in a row as one of 30 Hyundai Scholars nationwide and the donation will support her program on psychosocial intervention as well as a pilot study evaluating the optimal timing of late affects associated with cancer therapy. Hyundai and its dealers have donated more than $12.4 million since 1998 to fund life-saving childhood cancer research. Hyundai Hope on Wheels is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
