1. Hot breakfast
NORTHWEST HOUSTON — Kolache Factory opened in December at 25823 Hwy. 290, Ste. K, in Cypress. This is owner Huu Banh’s third shop. 2. Fit resolution
Fitness1on1.com opened in December at 15014 Spring Cypress Road, Ste. 130, in Cypress. The club provides a complimentary assessment for new members and charts progress with skin fold composition, blood pressure, flexibility and overall strength. Adhering to National Strength & Conditioning Association and American College of Sports Medicine guidelines, the club offers sports-specific training, pre- and postnatal conditioning and special event body sculpting. Dentistry Design Studio opened in early January at 23800 Hwy. 290, Ste. 201, in Cypress. The office offers all basic and elective dental services, including dental cleaning, braces, dentures, select types of oral surgery, teeth whitening and veneers. Call 281-304-6337.
5. Get aligned
Body Balance Chiropractic and Wellness Center opened at 12155 Jones Road, Ste. A. Dr. Shawn Taher’s multidisciplinary practice provides chiropractic, medical and physical therapy, including a wellness spa, nutritional counseling, vitamin testing, Botox, laser hair removal, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy, acupuncture and a weight-loss program. 6. Pizza eatery
Café Bella opened in early December at 12303 N. Eldridge Parkway, Ste. G, in Cypress. The restaurant serves pizza and pasta, sandwiches, soup and salads and has lunch specials. Parties are welcome. 7. Senior care

Franchise owner Charles Garcia’s first personal business, Liberty Tax Service, opened Jan. 7 at 26281 Hwy. 290, Ste. 650 in Cypress. Garcia processes income taxes and refunds for clients. 10. Wine in the city
The Urban Vine opened Dec. 8 at 13215 Grant Road, Ste. 700. Owner Sara Gordon stocks retail wine, and customers can buy wine off the shelf and drink it on the premises. Urban Vine carries 200 different labels and has space for 250 more. Tastings will be 6-8 p.m. every Wednesday. All gift baskets will be discounted 10 percent for Valentine’s Day. Call 281-374-8480.
11. Pageant deadline
All entry forms for the 2010 Miss Cy-Fair Houston Pageant are due by Feb. 22 by hand, fax or mail at the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce office, 11734 Barker Cypress Road, Ste. 105. E-mailed entry forms will not be accepted. The March 27 pageant is open to all girls ages 15-19.
