Volunteers to plant trees at Pecan Park

PFLUGERVILLEThe City of Pflugerville Parks and Recreation Department is coordinating a volunteer effort to plant 100 trees in Pecan Park on Sat., Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. The park is located at the intersection of Pecan Street and Immanuel Road.

Ryan Herrera of Boy Scout Troop 457 planned the project with the city’s forestry department while working toward his Eagle Scout award. Tree species to be planted include pecan, oak, elm and other native trees.

Volunteers are asked to bring gloves and a bottle of water. Parking is available at Bohl’s Park, 380 Immanuel Road; the Pflugerville Recreation Center, 400 Immanuel Road; or H-E-B, 201 FM 685.
