City of Pflugerville selects Brandon Wade for city manager position

PFLUGERVILLEThe Pflugerville City Council announced Nov. 18 that it intends to hire Brandon Wade of Galveston, Texas, as the new City Manager of Pflugerville.

Brandon Wade“I am pleased to announce our selection of Brandon Wade to the Pflugerville city manager position, as he holds the experience and technical proficiency that our city council is looking for,” Mayor Jeff Coleman said in a statement. “I’m excited about the vision Brandon expressed for Pflugerville’s growth and our need to maintain Pflugerville’s unique sense of community as our growth continues to spiral.”

The city council is expected to take action at the Nov. 24 meeting to formally appoint Wade to the city manager position.

Wade has been Deputy City Manager for the City of Galveston for 10 years and comes to Pflugerville with more than 20 years of experience in city government. He has worked for several Texas cities including Galveston, Alvin, Richland Hills and Dallas, holding a variety of positions including deputy city manager, assistant city manager, director of public works and municipal utilities, and director of community development.

Wade obtained his master’s degree in public administration and urban management from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s of science in civil engineering from Texas Tech University.

The City of Pflugerville has worked with Waters-Oldani Executive Recruitment, a division of Waters Consulting Group, to conduct the city manager search. Wade was selected from 89 applicants and will assume his new position January 4, 2010.
