Incident command vehicle debuts in Williamson County

GEORGETOWN — Williamson County sported its new Emergency Management Incident Command Vehicle, measuring 38 feet long and 13.5 feet high, on the Georgetown Square Feb. 2.
The vehicle will be used to respond to local, regional and state disasters and serve as command center. Equipped for the task, the station-on-wheels has a camera system with night vision and thermal imaging capabilities, cellular and satellite communications systems, video displays and a restroom. Eighteen personnel can fit inside.
Funds for the project totaled $342,500 and came from various sources. In addition to grant money and the corresponding county match, contributors included the Capital Area Trauma Regional Advisory Council and the Williamson County Fire Chiefs Association.
