PFLUGERVILLEPflugerville ISD board of trustees secretary Paul J. King, who has served on the board since 2001, will not seek a fourth term. His term ends the day of the May 8 school board election.

The terms of trustees Vernagene Mott and Carol Fletcher also expire in May. Both incumbents plan to seek re-election. School board elections are held annually, and trustees serve for three-year terms.

This will mark the first election held for a position on the PISD board of trustees since 2006. For the past three years, each incumbent has run unopposed. King cited an increased travel schedule at work and a desire to spend more time with his family as the reason for his decision.

Applications for a place on the Pflugerville ISD school board regular election ballot may be filed from Feb. 8 through March 8 at the PISD administration building, located at 1401 W. Pecan St. in Pflugerville. The office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays.
