At the Old Town Holiday Stroll in Pflugerville last month, visitors came to our booth and thanked us for having an informative newspaper. We don’t take this for granted and always try to think of ways to be more hyper-local as shown in December’s list of local restaurants that sell tamales. This month, we’re offering something new to give you a broader perspective of news in Central Texas. The Annual Regional Report is our way of sharing big developments in neighboring communities that may affect your workplace or another aspect of your life.

New Year’s resolutions affect our lives as well, and mine are usually kept for the month of January. However, the one I have kept the longest in past years was exercise. Now, I am a mom who feels like energy spent chasing a toddler should really count toward exercise, so I go to bed without touching my fitness equipment but getting more real exercise is one of my New Year’s resolutions again. Whether you are looking to get fit, lose weight or reduce overall stress, exercise is probably on your agenda. You may find our fitness guide will help you get started.

We all hope the economy will get healthier this year, too, and I look forward to the positive, dynamic news stories of 2009.
