Meetings planned to form PTAs for new Round Rock schools

The Round Rock ISD Council of PTAs has invited parents, teachers and staff to help organize the parent-teacher associations for each of the three new campuses opening for the 2010-2011 school year, including Chandler Oaks Elementary, Cpl. Robert P. Hernandez Middle School and Cedar Ridge High School.
Enrollment at ACC Pflugerville Center up 86 percent

Enrollment at the Austin Community College District’s Pflugerville Center at Hendrickson High School increased more than 86 percent this spring, compared with spring 2009 figures. ACC has 108 students at the Pflugerville Center this semester, up from 58 the year before.

Texas A&M Health Science Center announced Feb. 11 that the region’s two largest healthcare organizations intend to donate funds to support the school’s Round Rock campus, which opened in December. Seton Medical Center Williamson has pledged $600,000 toward development of the HSC’s nursing program in Williamson County, and the St. David’s Foundation has given $250,000 to support overall development of the campus.
ACC Round Rock enrollment up 83 percent

Austin Community College District enrollment in Round Rock continues to rise, with spring 2010 numbers up 83 percent compared with figures from 2008, when Round Rock ISD joined the ACC taxing district.
