1. New apartments

The Trails at Crystal Park, 610 Greenhill Drive, are under construction and pre-leasing apartments. The first move-ins are expected Dec. 20, and construction will be complete in April. One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments are available, and there will be 224 units on site. Rent ranges from $735 to $1,300 per month. 2. List of the best toys

Kaleidoscope Toys, 1601 S. IH 35, Ste. 350, released its 2008 Best Toys for Kids list, which includes toys that are fun and support children’s physical, cognitive and social development. The list includes toys suitable for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and older children, guiding parents to toy selection according to the different types of play the toy promotes. 4. Art center

5. Dunkin Donuts

6. Allergy relief

AAHCHOO!, an allergy clinic, opened at 907 Hesters Crossing, Ste. 100 in September. The clinic offers nonsurgical allergy treatments, including patch testing for contact allergens, pollenary function testing for breathing problems and exercise and food challenges. Call 248-8864.

7. Martial arts

Friar Tuck's Pantry

11. New restaurant

El Mariachi recently opened in a brightly painted building at 910 Sam Bass Road across from Round Rock Gardens. The restaurant serves authentic Mexican food, homemade salsa and fresh corn tortillas. El Mariachi is open every day 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Call 388-4400.

12. Family medical care

15. Video games store

A new video game store, Apollo Games, opened last month and offers gamers new and used video games and consoles. The family-owned store, at 2711 La Frontera Blvd., Ste. 215, can pre-order unreleased titles and special order hard-to-find games. Store credit is given for trade-ins. A new church, Iglesia Centro de Amistad, is meeting in the Clay Madsen Recreation Center, 1600 Gattis School Road, at 11:30 a.m. Sundays. Jeffrey L. Whiston and his wife, Coco, moved to the area with a team from Mexico with the goal of starting a church that would reach out to the Hispanic community. After attending culinary school in Denver, Colo., Paige Morgan has returned to her hometown and opened Paige’s Bakehouse at 206B Laurel Drive. She focuses on specialty cakes and baked goods such as cookies with a company’s logo for giving to clients. All items are made from scratch, and Morgan welcomes early morning drop-ins for fresh pastries and coffee. 21. New hotel

Alfredo’s Mexican Food opened Nov. 6 at 800 W. Pecan St., Ste. C, where Bandido’s Mexican Restaurant was previously located. Alfredo’s features popular Mexican dishes and pastries and has daily lunch specials for $5.99. Call 990-8026.

23. Art instruction

24. New Meister Lane

The City of Pflugerville, Greater Pflugerville Chamber of Commerce and Pflugerville Community Development Corporation held a ribbon cutting Nov. 6 to commemorate the opening of New Meister Lane. The new road is the result of an economic development agreement between the city, PCDC and the owners of the Verde Springbrook Corporate Center industrial project. 25. Food drive

Food Drive

The Pflugerville Fire Department partnered with Graham Central Station to hold a food drive in November. Approximately 1,066 pounds of food and $1,957 were raised. All food and monetary donations were given to the Pflugerville Storehouse Food Pantry, 1202 FM 685 Ste. C5. Call 989-9989 to donate to the food pantry.

Mott elected to statewide association board

The Texas Association of School Boards elected Pflugerville ISD board member Vernagene Mott to a one-year term on the TASB Board of Directors, representing TASB Region 13C. Mott is secretary of the PISD board on which she has served four years.
